Is Life-Coaching the same as "going to therapy"?
In short, no. A certified life-coach does not have the same training nor skillset as a licensed mental health therapist (unless of course they are a licensed mental health therapist). Therapy usually involves uncovering the roots of a problem, overcoming past trauma and assisting with mood and mindset management. Additionally, a licensed therapist can diagnose mental and emotional illnesses. A certified life-coach focuses on helping their client develop and achieve future goals, helps the client clarify their desires and assists in building a framework for the timeline and healthy habits needed to achieve said goals.
